Close Community
Easton’s recreational activities are virtually unlimited. The Town boasts excellent year-round recreation programs for children through senior citizens. The Easton Recreation Department involves the community as a whole in many organized events such as Winter Carnival and Easton Field Days which is a week-long event ending with a parade and fireworks.

Exceptional School System
Easton students excel academically and are also very successful in extracurricular activities. Even with a small student enrollment, Easton sports teams are very competitive and consistently progress to state tournaments. The small town values of Easton can be seen in the schools which boast a committed and caring staff, excellent facilities, and an environment where every student is known by his or her name.

Low Property Taxes
As a result of the recent revaluation process for residential and industrial properties, Easton’s taxes are at 100% for State of Maine valuation purposes giving residents full benefit of the exemptions offered by the State. The Town has been able to keep the mil rate steady at 17.4 for the past three years keeping Easton’s taxes stable for residents and businesses alike.

Two Working Mills
Along with a strong work ethic, the natural resources are the foundation of Easton’s economy. Huber Engineered Woods LLC (HEW) and McCain Foods, INC. are two of the major contributors to the continuing economic stability in Easton.

Affordable Housing
Choosing a place to live is one of the most important decisions you will make. Whether you are looking for a beautiful piece of land to build your dream home or an affordable apartment to call your own, the Town of Easton has sensible options to choose from. There are five rental complexes close to the downtown center as well as three mobile home parks in Easton. There are also housing alternatives for the disabled or elderly which include most utilities and a recreational room on site where daily or weekly exercise programs and nutritional aid are provided by the Recreation Department.

Beautiful Scenic Views
Easton is home to spectacular ATV and snowmobiling trails providing direct access to the Interconnected Trail System (ITS) with trails connecting Mars Hill, Fort Fairfield, and Presque Isle, as well as trails that connect you with the Canadian border’s scenic vistas overlooking Aroostook County and Canada.
